Jokes #22

The Cow in Iraviperoor (or Why Tropical Rainforests Shouldn't Exist :))

I've been to Kerala about six times, and every time I go, there's always an adventure of some sort waiting for me!

Often, when I visit my family there, I see my second cousin who lives in a village called Iraviperoor (pronounced /eruvEri/!), very close to Thiruvalla.

Now, there are two disadvantages for villages in Kerala:

1. There are not very many paved roads, and since Kerala is so green, most of the area is covered with trees and vegetation. Most roads are simply very narrow dirt paths.

2. There are lots of cows, and they all have horns!

One day, my cousin's family, my mother, and I were walking along one such road. Unfortunately, it was evening, so cobras and poisonous snakes could be found on many of the trees.

Soon, we came across a cow along the road. And then and there, my uncle suddenly decided that he wanted to take a picture of my cousin and me! So, of course, we had to stand right in front of the horned cow!

Nervously, I asked my cousin, "Does this cow ever hurt anyone?"

Not quite as nervously, he replied, "Sometimes." (Fortunately, the cow didn't get riled up.)
