Jokes #28

Fun and Fin...ance

Several years ago, my cousins and I spent Christmas near New Orleans, where two other cousins lived. My present was a set of two cassettes for learning Russian and a small textbook for following along with the dialogues. (Of course, my cousins knew that I love learning foreign languages all the time!).

We have several pictures from that visit. One of the pictures shows me (I was probably no more than 10 years old) sitting at a table, listening to my tapes eagerly and making a very childish face.

Sitting at the other side of the table was my cousin, Paappan (Acchaacchan). Paappan always reads the tables in the Wall Street Journal and does similar activities, thus predicting the flow of the stock market quite well.

But in that picture, he's looking at me very seriously, with his glasses positioned so that they look like they'll fall off soon. So my dad claims that he was thinking, "What will become of this kid's financial future?"
