Jokes #3

What was that supposed to mean???

In Kerala, Hindi is considered to be one of the hardest subjects. The thing is, in Hindi there are words that mean something totally different in Malayalam!

One time, a Malayalee had to give a speech in Hindi. He began with the words: "Mujhe prasang karne ke liye bahut prayaas hai..."

In Hindi, this makes no sense, because it means, "To me it is a very effort for making the subject."

But in Malayalam, prasankam means a speech and prayaasam* means difficulty. He was trying to say that, to him, making a speech (especially in Hindi!) was very difficult...

*(often slurred as /prEsam/ or /prAEsam/)
